The Quinta da Aldeia Nova, located near the village of Pombeiro da Beira, the seat of the parish of the same name, is 13 km from Arganil. It is situated on one of the western slopes, in the valley crossed by the Lameiros stream, at the foothills of the Serra de Santa Quitéria, with an elevation ranging between 200m and 580m. From here, the view extends from the Serra do Caramulo to the Serra da Estrela, on the left bank of the Alva River.
The wines of Quinta da Aldeia Nova are conceived with a focus on respecting nature and the consumer, utilizing low-intervention winemaking practices, spontaneous fermentations, minimal technology, and no addition of enological products. All these processes are carried out meticulously and carefully with the assistance of winemaker Carlos Raposo, resulting in wines that smell like wine, bursting with energy, pure, light, and genuine, with a balanced structure.
The first harvest was named “Raiva do Alva” DOC, inspired by a local legend that tells of a dispute among the three rivers born in the Serra da Estrela: the Alva, the Mondego, and the Zêzere.
